Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 in Colorado Springs is seeking an Armed Security Guard to help protect students and staff. The role requires a high school diploma, a valid Colorado driver's license, and successful completion of extensive background checks, psychological evaluation, range qualification, and drug screening.

Candidates must hold or be eligible for POST certification, or have completed a state-certified police academy or similar training, plus CPR and First Aid certification on

• Must have or be eligible for POST Certification or equivalent training; or police academy/military police training; or equivalent security experience.

Armed Security Guard

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Candidate must qualify for employment by passing additional extensive background checks, psychological evaluation, range qualification, and drug screening
• Valid Colorado driver's license is required for hire
• Have or be eligible for current Peace Officer's Standard Training (POST) Certification; or completion of a state-certified police academy or military police training academy; or job-related knowledge which may be gained by at least two (2) years in law enforcement, or two (2) years education in law enforcement or police science, or at least 3 years experience in other security related field
• CPR and First Aid certification required upon hire

Hours/Days

8 hours/day

11:00 am to 7:30 pm (Schedule may vary)

182 days/year

Salary Range

$26.09 to $34.93 per hour
