Job summary

Cheyenne Mountain School District in Colorado Springs is seeking an armed Security Guard to protect school facilities and students. You will undergo extensive background checks, psychological evaluation, range qualification, and drug screening, with the state POST pathway or equivalent required.

A valid Colorado driver’s license is necessary. The position runs 8 hours per day, 11:00 am–7:30 pm, 182 days per year, with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Candidate must pass extensive background checks, psychological evaluation, range qualification, and drug screening.
• Valid Colorado driver's license required for hire.
• POST certification or eligibility via police academy, military police training, or 2 years in law enforcement or 3 years in security field.

Job description

• Position Type: Security/ Armed Security Guard
• Candidate must qualify for employment by passing additional extensive background checks, psychological evaluation, range qualification, and drug screening
• Valid Colorado driver's license is required for hire
• Have or be eligible for current Peace Officer's Standard Training (POST) Certification; or completion of a state-certified police academy or military police training academy; or job-related knowledge which may be gained by at least two(2) years in law enforcement, or two (2) years education in law enforcement or police science, or at least 3 years experience in other security related field
• CPR and First Aid certification required upon hire

Hours/Days

8 hours/day 11:00 am to 7:30 pm (Schedule may vary) 182 days/year

Salary Range

$26.09 to $34.93 per hour Salary based on experience and education Full-time benefits apply
