Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful law enforcement, security, or military experience or training.
• Florida concealed weapons permit required and maintained.
• Must meet all law enforcement requirements for School Safety Guardian.
• Must complete training including firearms and legal issues.
• Must pass psychological evaluation and drug tests.
• Must be 21 or older and have valid Florida driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Use force as necessary to prevent or abate an active assailant.
• Respond quickly to stop threats and engage appropriately.
• Perform perimeter and interior checks to ensure school security.
• Manage school access and monitor entry points.
• Prepare incident reports and assist in emergency drills.
• Collaborate with administrators and law enforcement.
• Provide support at district events as needed.
