Job summary

First Coast Security Solutions seeks Protective Security Officers (PSOs) with an active TS clearance to provide armed security services in Orlando, FL and surrounding areas. PSOs protect federal property, employees and visitors, enforce regulations, and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities include access control, screening visitors, monitoring entrances, patrolling, logging reports, and handling emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Active TS clearance required for consideration.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and 21+ years old.
  • Florida D Security Officer License and Florida G Firearm License.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication.
  • Successful completion of required training and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Controls access to the facility and screens visitors to expedite admittance.
  • Monitors entrances/exits, prevents unauthorised entry and directs movement of people and vehicles.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot and manages security incidents.
  • Prepares logs and reports; documents incidents and follows procedures.
  • Responds to fires, medical emergencies, threats, and other incidents per procedures.

Job description

First Coast Security Solutions provides security services nationwide. We are seeking Protective Security Officers (PSOs) with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance to provide armed security services in Orlando, Florida and surrounding areas. PSOs protect federal property, employees and visitors. Officers are responsible for maintaining safety, access control procedures, and responding to incidents. This role maintains order and enforces regulations pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.

Must have an active Top Secret clearance. Applicants who to do not have an active clearance will not be considered.

Full and Part-Time Opportunities Available
  • Training Rate: $17.75/hour
  • Probationary Rate: $24.85/hour + $5.20 Health & Welfare (H&W)
  • Base Rate: $27.50/hour + $5.20 Health & Welfare (H&W).
  • Additional $2.00/hour with required TS clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Controls access to client facility through the admittance process; assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility; screens visitors and client employees in an efficient manner in order to expedite their admittance to the facility.
  • Monitors entrances and exits; prevents unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates a gate and examines vehicle contents; monitors remote entrances using closed circuit television; operates remote access devices; in a calm manner directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot.
  • Protects evidence or scene of incidents in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage and provides direction or information to others.
  • Prepares logs or reports as required for post; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required.
  • Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for post, by the company, or through training or certification.
  • Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned post.
  • Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and /or testing):
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable federal, state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • A candidate must have the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions described. In addition to other demands, the demands of the job.
  • May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
  • Successful passage of background reference psychological and controlled substance tests in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements.
  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift, run as needed. Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Frequent moving and/or lifting heavy objects.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must have an active TS clearance.
  • Must possess Florida D Security Officer License.
  • Must possess Florida G Firearm License.
  • Successful completion of a federal/state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer's standard training course that may result in a law enforcement appointment or commission.
  • Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
  • Must maintain all required licenses, permits and certifications.
  • Must have verifiable documentation of at least one experience level and at least one educational level or any reasonable combination listed below:
Experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of security (armed) or law enforcement experience; or minimum of two (2) years of honorable service as a member of any U.S. Armed Forces component.
Education
  • Received a High School Diploma from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD 214; or
  • Received a GED from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD 214; or minimum of 60 credit hours, in a related field, from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
