Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Armed Security Officer to join the Edgewood Security Team. The role is part-time, 24 hours, 3rd shift, delivering a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The officer will interact professionally, provide customer relations, and work with law enforcement as needed; duties include patrols, reporting, and training in firearms. Non-exempt role with opportunities for growth within hospital security services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with applicable Criminal Justice experience, or a Bachelor's Degree.
• Valid driver's license and insurability by hospital carrier.
• Specialized firearms training and weapons retention knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Direct visitors, patients and staff to locations and intervene to prevent disturbances.
• Protect and safeguard all persons on SEH property.
• Provide way-finding and general assistance to patients and visitors during security duties.
• Maintain professional, courteous communications and de-escalation when needed.
• Monitor CCTV and alarms; handle radio/phone communications.
