Job summary

Sunstates Security is hiring Armed Security Officers in the South Palm Beach County/North Broward County area. If you have prior military or law enforcement experience or five years of verifiable security work, you may be a strong fit.

The role includes credential verification, access control, and monitoring of security systems. We seek individuals with a valid armed security license, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a physiological screening.

Qualifications

• Prior military or law enforcement experience, or 5+ years verifiable security experience.
• Valid driver’s license and armed security license/certification.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass physiological screening and have good customer service skills.
• Professional bearing, neat appearance, courteous but firm approach to enforcing security requirements.
• Ability to use computers, visitor management systems, radios, and surveillance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage vehicle and pedestrian access by verifying credentials and authorizing visitors.
• Enforce site access procedures consistently and professionally.
• Monitor security systems, traffic flow, and surrounding areas for safety concerns.
• Respond to incidents, unauthorized entry attempts, and emergencies.
• Read and follow Post Orders and SOPs precisely.

HIRING IMMEDIATELY Sunstates Security is hiring Armed Security Officers in the South Palm Beach County/North Broward County area. All days and shifts are available! These positions offer a pay rate of $25/hr, with weekly pay.

Requirements

• Prior military service, prior law enforcement experience, OR a minimum of five years of verifiable experience as a security officer
• Valid Driver's License.
• Valid Armed Security Officer License/Certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass physiological screening.
• Must have good communication and customer service skills.
• Professional bearing, a neat appearance, and a courteous but firm approach to enforcing security requirements.
• Ability to use computers, visitor management systems, radios, and surveillance equipment.
• Ability to perform assigned gate duties, including standing, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Previous gatehouse, access control, or high-volume visitor screening experience preferred
• Experience working at a school, residential community, or multi-agency campus preferred

In this role, you will manage vehicle and pedestrian access by verifying credentials, authorizing visitors, and enforcing site access procedures consistently and professionally. You will also monitor security systems, traffic flow, and surrounding areas for safety concerns while responding appropriately to incidents, unauthorized entry attempts, and emergencies.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
