Job summary

Azusa Pacific University is seeking an armed Special Service Officer Supervisor to lead campus safety operations. The role directs personnel, oversees training, and manages emergency responses across the university community.

Key duties include enforcing laws, coordinating with law enforcement, and developing security policies. A CA driver’s license and prior campus security experience are preferred; bachelor’s degree or 60 units may be advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or 60 units preferred.
• CA POS T Certified Academy, BSIS Guard Card, firearms permit, tear gas, baton, First aid, CPR/AED required by hire.
• No criminal record and valid CA driver’s license; prior campus safety supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises Special Service Officer personnel, Parking Enforcement, Events, and Investigations.
• Oversees training and ensures officer competence and safety procedures.
• Maintains campus safety and emergency procedures; patrols property by vehicle or on foot.
• Responds to radio calls and coordinates with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Enforces policies and laws; assists local law enforcement as needed.
• Conducts investigations and prepares detailed reports.
• Develops crime prevention programs and staff training.
• Supports Student Life and Residence Life; provides on-campus escorts.
• Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines for the department.
• Participates in disciplinary actions and strategic event planning.
