Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care seeks a vigilant Security Officer to patrol the campus and protect patients, staff, and visitors. You will respond to incidents, enforce hospital policies, and maintain a professional appearance as an ambassador of the organization.

Responsibilities include deterring crime, handling alarms, and conducting escorts for money transfers and valuable items, while submitting timely reports and upholding safety procedures across the campus.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year in security, healthcare setting, law enforcement, or military.
• Education: High school graduate or higher.
• Training: First aid, CPR, de-escalation techniques, safe restraints, Mississippi Security Guard Firearms Permit, firearms qualification, armed guard training, OC/pepper spray, baton or taser certification.
• Preferred: CIT Training and Taser Certification.
• Skills: Basic computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the campus to deter crime and address safety hazards.
• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and employees while enforcing safety procedures.
• Respond to disturbances, alarms, and incidents; enforce hospital policy and state/local laws as needed.
• Submit reports promptly and professionally.
• Escort money transfers and secure patient valuables; provide non-monetary escorts for staff, visitors, physicians, and patients.
• Control all parking, emphasize emergency parking areas.
• Conduct regular and random patrols and achieve assigned goals.
