Job summary

The University of the Pacific is seeking a Patrol Officer to support the San Francisco Campus under the Director of Public Safety. The role involves maintaining safety, monitoring entrances, responding to alarms and emergencies, and guiding students, staff, and visitors.

The position requires a BSIS Security Guard Certification, firearms permit, CPR, and relevant experience in armed security. A high school diploma is required, with preferred college coursework in security or public safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year working in an armed BSIS licensed security guard capacity.
• Current BSIS Security Guard Certification.
• Current BSIS Firearms Permit.
• Pepper Spray and baton certification (or within 6 months of hire).
• Current CPR Certification (or within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient/clinic access points and activate entry for authorized individuals as needed.
• Respond to dispatch control instructions, alarms, and emergencies as required.
• Provide information to visitors about security matters and handicap parking.
• Monitor controlled access to ensure only authorized personnel are admitted and provide campus event security.
• Maintain and check closed circuit cameras, security radios, and alarms; assist with system checks.
• Patrol the interior and perimeter of the campus; observe, take action, and report unusual occurrences.
