Job summary

Northampton Community College is seeking an Armed Public Safety Officer to work the 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shift on the Pocono Campus in Tannersville, PA. You will maintain a visible security presence and respond to emergencies while upholding college policies.

The role requires a high school diploma, PA Act 235 firearms certification, and at least two years of security experience. CPR/AED certification and driving privileges are also necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pa State Act 235 Firearms certification required.
• Minimum two years’ security or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a highly visible campus presence.
• Provide professional customer service to students and staff.
• Assist supervisor with dissemination of information to all officers.
• Respond clearly to questions from students, staff and visitors.
• Conduct follow-up investigations with Student Affairs staff.
• Patrol campus on foot, in a vehicle and on bicycle when necessary.
• Act as a first responder for campus emergencies.
