Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation in Kansas is seeking a maintenance worker to care for receiving barns, arena areas and related equipment. You will perform set-up and tear-down for events and ensure safety of stage risers, rigging, and lighting, while operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in a fast-paced venue environment, and strong communication skills to coordinate with event staff and team members.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to walk, stand, lift, shovel, rake, reach, bend and twist throughout shift.
• Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean shed rows and stalls thoroughly daily prior to horses and livestock shipping.
• Rake shed rows and stalls.
• Make receiving Arena and barn look presentable for events.
• Hang gates, screw eyes, change light bulbs and other arena/barn maintenance.
• Perform maintenance on Stage risers to ensure safety.
• Maintain pipe and drape, chair risers and chairs.
• Change lighting as necessary in arena.
• Clean and organize arena complete assets.
• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors, sky tracks and boom lifts.
• Oversee connection of touring events to house electrical equipment.
• Assist with set-up and tear-down on any event.
• General cleanup of the floor and building
