Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area and support overall operations as needed. The role includes opening/closing, supervising associates, and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-merchandised store environment.

The Area Supervisor will ensure adherence to company procedures, train staff, and drive customer service excellence while maintaining a professional appearance and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Fluency in English is essential for daily operations and customer interactions.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience is preferred for leadership responsibilities.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications is expected.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail environments is required.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as part of retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise Associates on duty.
• Maintain merchandise presentation and clean work areas to company standards.
• Lead front-end operations and ensure efficient checkout processes.
• Support loss prevention and safety initiatives across the store.
• Train and coach Associates on policies, procedures, and customer service.
• Manage back-room receiving, stockrooms, and merchandising recovery.
