Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for the daily operation of plants, including operations, maintenance, production, inventory control, safety, environmental compliance and supervision of plant employees.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Manage and oversee operations of multiple plants and mixer drivers.
  • Ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Maintain adequate inventories to meet customer needs.
  • Enforce company policies and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Schedule material deliveries and ensure prompt, safe, efficient delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental standards.
  • Maintain plant facilities in excellent condition.
  • Perform daily equipment and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure employees work efficiently and consistently with policies and guidelines.
  • Lead safety conversation meetings daily, weekly, monthly.
  • Safely and properly operate a ready‑mix plant.
  • Troubleshoot material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with the Operations Manager.
  • Complete company reports and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain good working relationships with co‑workers and outside agencies.
  • Manage disciplinary procedures for plant personnel.
  • Ensure reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned location.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Mixer driving and batching experience preferred.
  • Minimum Class B CDL with air brakes.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and perform all duties of concrete operations as needed.
  • Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift objects up to 100 lbs. frequently.
  • Climb stairs and ladders repeatedly.
  • Balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects repeatedly.
  • Tolerate working in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Reach, squat, stand, walk, or sit in prolonged standing/walking/sitting scenarios.
  • Walk on uneven surfaces repeatedly.
