Job summary

Flagger Force, LLC is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead field operations in the Miami‑Dade and South Broward counties. You will coach field crews, manage performance, and ensure safety, service quality, and client satisfaction on a daily basis.

This field‑based role requires daily travel within the territory, strong bilingual English/Spanish communication, and collaboration with DOTs and municipalities. You'll participate in hiring, reviews, and pre‑construction planning to keep projects on

Overview

The Area Supervisor is responsible for leading field operations within an assigned territory, with accountability for employee performance, safety, service quality, client relationships, and operational execution. This position provides hands‑on leadership to field employees through regular job site visits, coaching, and performance management; oversees pre‑construction planning and field readiness; and builds strong relationships with clients, State DOT representatives, and local municipalities.

The Area Supervisor serves as a key connection between field operations, clients, and internal departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery. This is a field‑based position supporting the Miami‑Dade County and South Broward County, Florida territory and requires daily travel throughout the assigned area.

Responsibilities
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally in both English and Spanish with employees, clients, and other business partners as an essential function of the position.
  • This position supports Miami‑Dade County, Florida territory. The employee must reside within the assigned territory or within a reasonable commuting distance that allows for reliable and timely travel to job sites throughout Miami‑Dade County or Broward County.
  • Manages and provides day‑to‑day leadership to assigned field personnel.
  • Directs and oversees the work of assigned field employees.
  • Participates in hiring, performance management, corrective action, and termination decisions in accordance with company policies.
  • Builds strong relationships with direct reports through regular coaching, communication, and job site visits.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development support to assigned employees.
  • Travel daily to job site locations throughout the assigned territory to observe field operations, evaluate performance, and complete required reporting.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, State DOT representatives, and local municipalities within the assigned territory.
  • Identify client needs, service opportunities, and potential areas for account growth, and communicate opportunities to the appropriate internal partners.
  • Lead the pre‑construction management process, including client meetings, internal job lead meetings, job planning, and other required communication.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for internal office staff regarding job requirements, including personnel, equipment, and operational needs.
  • Meet regularly with the Field Manager to review Crew Leader and Advanced Crew Leader performance, staffing needs, operational issues, and key performance metrics.
  • Complete and submit timely and accurate work zone observation and operational reports
  • Partner with the Safety Department in the investigation and follow‑up of incidents, as requested.
  • Monitor fleet telematics and provide driver coaching and corrective follow‑up as appropriate.
  • Professionally represent the organization in interactions with clients, employees, municipalities, and the public.
  • Submit HR requests and deliver coaching, corrective action, and discipline in accordance with company guidelines and established timelines.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Operations, Safety, Human Resources, and other internal departments.
  • Make recommendations to the Field Manager regarding field employee promotions, development, and staffing needs.
  • Conduct, attend, and participate in department and operational meetings as required.
  • Conduct random quarterly, post‑accident, and reasonable‑suspicion drug testing in accordance with company policy and applicable requirements.
  • Successfully complete the Area Supervisor Job Training Program and all required continuing education and certifications.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of business and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage time effectively
  • Ability to manage high stress scenarios and environments
  • Proficient computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Steel toed boots or the ability to obtain prior to employment.

Preferred experience:

  • One (1) or more years of experience with Flagger Force and/or comparable traffic control operations.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with state and federal traffic control guidelines, including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, or supervising field employees.
  • Advanced Crew Leader knowledge or comparable traffic control leadership experience.
