General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store, overall store operations, and supervision when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, proper merchandise presentation, and executing operational processes.

Essential Functions

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment, correcting or reporting unsafe conditions.
• Secure the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, Cash Office, and other security measures.
• Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
• Ensure customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
• Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarms as needed.

Customer Service

• Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
• Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism, recognizing associates through company programs.

Personal and Store Brand

• Represent and support the company brand at all times.
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure associates adhere to dress code.
• Keep store areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
• Manage daily trash removal.
