General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times. They also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.

Essential Functions

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

• Understand safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
• Maintain high awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment. Report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Ensure security of the building including entry/exit control, EAS devices, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick-ups, and register area.
• Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
• Responsible for customer safety, accident prevention, reporting, and emergency procedures.
• Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms.
