Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is a key member of Store Leadership responsible for overseeing a specific area of the Store, as well as the overall operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They handle opening and closing procedures, supervise Associates, and ensure a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Responsibilities include proper merchandise presentation and maintaining a clean work area. They also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining awareness on the sales floor to ensure a secure shopping environment. Report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Manage building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, Cash Office security, and handling armored carrier pickups.
• Ensure clear egress to emergency exits and maintain safety protocols for customer safety, accident prevention, and emergency procedures.
• Test fire alarm systems regularly and respond to after-hours alarms as needed.

Customer Service:

• Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism. Recognize Associates through Company programs.

Personal and Store Brand:

• Represent and support the Company brand consistently.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the Dress Code, ensuring all Associates do the same.
• Keep all store areas clean, well-maintained, and properly merchandised. Responsible for daily trash removal.

General Merchandising:

• Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed per standards through effective teaching and follow-up.
• Assist with receiving merchandise and process inbound deliveries efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of Stockrooms and ensure back-stock security and processing.
• Oversee merchandising, reduce loss due to damage, and ensure compliance with presentation guidelines.
• Handle floor moves, signing, re-wraps, and promotional signage as needed.

Loss Prevention:

• Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a high visibility on the sales floor, and engage with Customers and Associates to prevent loss.
