Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a seasoned field supervisor to monitor and organize planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex New Albany project with multiple stakeholders. You will coordinate subcontractor management staff and ensure work aligns with established schedules and safety requirements.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals to interpret designs and ensure constructability.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages area expenditures for labor, equipment, material and services, within budget.
• Develops and executes Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
• Monitors and directs direct hires/subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.
• Reviews and monitors construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
• Reviews and approves construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material/equipment requirements.
• Leads civil-structural construction operations impacted by external interfaces to align with schedules.
• Reviews project controls documents on progress related to cost and schedule.
• Participates in field change documents and RFIs; supports contracts with change notices/amendments.
• Ensures work methods are planned and executed safely.
• Proactively pursues learning activities and supports AWB/Advance Work Packaging.

Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will monitor and organize planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders' involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor's management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Major Responsibilities:

General:

• Manages area expenditures for labor equipment, material and services, and ensures field operations are within the budget.
• Ensures development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
• Monitors and directs direct hires/subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.

Planning:

• Reviews and monitors construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
• Reviews and approves where necessary, construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
• Leads the civil-structural construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
• Reviews the project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
• Participates in the preparation/review of field change documents and requests for information.
• Supports contracts with the verification of change notices and amendments.
• Ensures work methods are planned and executed safely.
• Proactively involved in continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
• Supports civil-structural Advance Work Packaging (AWP) efforts.
• Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.

Safety/Quality:

• Ensures Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
• Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
• Enforces policies, procedures, and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Technical:

• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
• Coordinates with design on constructability issues.
