Job summary

Urban Genesis is seeking a Porter to maintain cleanliness and appearance of the property, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained community for residents and visitors.

The Porter will perform cleaning and light maintenance in common areas, assist with move-ins/move-outs, support inspections, and deliver excellent customer service while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in property maintenance, janitorial, or similar roles preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of interior and exterior common areas.
• Ensure trash removal and recycling are managed effectively.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks (changing bulbs, cleaning windows, minor repairs).
• Maintain property aesthetics and report maintenance issues.
• Support resident move-ins/move-outs and prepare apartments for new tenants.
• Assist during inspections and audits of the property.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
• Maintain and organize cleaning and maintenance supplies.

Summary of Position

The Porter will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of properties. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the community is welcoming, safe, and well-maintained for all residents and visitors.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the interior and exterior common areas, including hallways, stairwells, parking lots, and landscaping areas.
• Ensure trash removal and recycling are managed effectively across the property.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning windows, and repairing minor issues.
• Ensure the property is free of debris, litter, and clutter, maintaining the overall aesthetic of the complex.
• Monitor the condition of amenities, report any maintenance issues, and assist with upkeep as directed.
• Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs, including preparing apartments for new tenants.
• Provide support during inspections and audits of the property.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents, responding to inquiries and assisting with needs when possible.
• Maintain and organize cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in property maintenance, janitorial, or similar roles (preferred).
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for long periods.
• You may be required to participate in On-Call rotation in this position
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliable, with a strong work ethic and a focus on delivering excellent service.
• Ability to handle minor maintenance tasks and report issues to the Property Manager or maintenance team.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures and cleaning chemicals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Valid driver's license (if applicable for property needs).
