Job summary

OnTrac is seeking an Area Manager in Spokane, WA to lead a team of Package Handlers and ensure efficient, safe operations at the facility. The role reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on optimizing sort activities and volume flow within an assigned area.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in logistics with leadership experience, strong data analysis and MS Office skills, plus effective communication and staff development abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in logistics/shipping/3PL with at least 1 year of leadership experience.
• Ability to evaluate and summarize data and present answers clearly.
• Strong communication and feedback skills; experience hiring and training staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area.
• Monitor progress, provide feedback, identify improvement areas, and address performance and attendance.
• Lead pre-sort meetings and communicate daily goals, events, and safety priorities.
• Record and manage departures/arrivals and volume flow from Linehauls.
• Perform safety training, operational audits, and end-of-shift reporting.

Location: 4330 S. Grove Rd., Suite 200, Spokane, WA 99224. This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting.

Compensation

The expected starting base pay range for this position is $80,169, with a full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $81,600. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

Employment Logistics

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to enhance business outcomes within the operation.

The Must-Haves

• GED/Diploma required, BA/BS college degree in related discipline preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills
• Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area in the facility to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings, keeping employees informed of daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities. Maintain an open line of communication to engage employees.
• Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
• Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.
