Job summary

Amazon Area Manager Intern positions offer hands-on leadership in fast-paced warehouse environments during the summer of 2027. This ten-week internship (40 hours per week) places you in a fulfillment center, sort center or other operations building to coach, motivate and mentor hourly associates under site leadership.

You will work on an intern project, learn to manage a team, and experience real responsibilities from day one.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shifts that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (where applicable).
• Work in a noisy environment and lift up to 49 pounds.

This is not a corporate, remote or office-based position. This is a ten-week internship (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2027 located within one of Amazon's fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations or other operations buildings. Amazon is seeking customer focused individuals eager to develop a collaborative leadership style with a team of hourly employees across our Operations network! Our warehouses are fast-paced supply chain environments where standing, walking, and having on-the-production floor conversations are common.

As an Area Manager Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to coach, motivate and mentor a team of Amazon associates in a warehouse environment. Amazon provides extensive training and development to become an exceptional people leader. Your main focus will be learning to manage a team as well as developing a summer project in partnership with your site leadership.

• Work in an environment where the noise level varies.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
• Climb and descend stairs (when applicable).
