Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a proactive maintenance program leader to plan, develop, and operate the Area Headquarters maintenance programs in alignment with schedules and budgets. You will oversee crews, manage safety, and coordinate with various teams to ensure timely pavement and sign marking work.

The role requires budgeting, reporting, and inventory control, along with experience in emergency operations and contract monitoring.

Qualifications

• Experience budgeting and forecasting expenditures for maintenance programs.
• Ability to prepare cost documents for labor, equipment and materials.
• Strong data reporting, recordkeeping and analytics skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and operate maintenance programs within schedules and budgets.
• Direct pavement and sign marking crews and coordinate with TE groups.
• Oversee emergency operations including snow removal and hurricane preparedness.
• Maintain inventory, purchase controls and IMS documentation.
• Manage safety program and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Monitor contracts and provide cost estimates for road maintenance projects.
