Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking an Area Lead for Water & Wastewater to manage operations, project delivery and client engagement across California and the Pacific Northwest. You will lead engineering teams, drive efficiencies, and coordinate with regional leadership to meet KPIs and budgets.

The role requires 10+ years in engineering, a CA PE license, and strong leadership, communication, and business development skills to grow client relationships and secure new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in engineering with project management focus.
• Proven track record leading teams and multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
• Experience in business development and client relationships.
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree and CA PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Serve as Project Manager on large projects or client portfolios within defined geography.
• Act as primary client contact, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain client relationships to support growth.
• Lead efforts to secure new business opportunities and meet water market goals.
• Implement QA/QC processes throughout project lifecycle.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
