Big R is seeking an Area Lead for our receiving department. You will oversee daily tasks, train staff, and ensure product and inventory are received and shipped across locations.

Description

Almost Anything, Big R's Got It!, and we want YOU to join the Big R Team as an Area Lead for our receiving department.

We have a relaxed work environment and want people with strong work ethics and a drive to make a difference. We are looking for an individual that understands how being organized and paying attention to detail is extremely important to the regular operations of our business. This person will be required to become forklift certified, able to lift 50 pounds consistently, and work as part of a team to ensure product and inventory is received and shipped throughout the store and company locations. Computer knowledge and proper communication are integral skills for this position.

The Area Lead Receiver is also responsible for supervision of department employees including creating and distributing daily assignments, training new employees, and cross training employees from other departments.

Requirements

* This position requires the applicant to be at least 21 years of age to receive firearms and must become Forklift Certified.

Background Check required - any irregularities must be approved by management.

Requirements:

• General knowledge of all department’s product is desired - Departments include: Cashier, Sporting Goods, Tack and Pet, Hardware, Automotive, Clothing, Boots, & Accessories, Yard, Receiving
• Provide Friendly & Helpful Customer Service at all times. Possess a Positive Attitude and Professionalism
• All Associates are expected to conform to the scheduled work hours and shifts set by Store Management. Must be capable of working on their feet for long periods of time, and capable of standing, walking, bending and/or kneeling, consistently throughout the workday.
• All associates should be capable of pushing, pulling and/or lifting up to 30 pounds without assistance consistently and sometimes 50 pounds throughout the workday.

Additional Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

• General cleaning and upkeep of all areas of the store
• Answer phones, 2-way radio calls, make announcements over PA system, with clear, pleasant and professional methods of communication.
• Computer & Point of Sale system knowledge -- including transaction processing, product lookup, inventory verification and availability.
• General knowledge / experience is desired - including Federal Firearms License, Shipping & receiving, Forklift/pallet jack operation, consistent lifting of 50+ pounds.
