Job summary

ENFRA Solutions is seeking an Area HSE Specialist to support safety across Business Unit projects, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. You will work closely with the HSE Manager to maintain regulatory compliance and incident prevention.

Responsibilities include developing field safety orientation, inspecting equipment and working conditions, ensuring proper PPE use, conducting safety meetings, and reporting findings with corrective actions. Travel required 50–75%.

Qualifications

• Recognized safety certification.
• 5 years of construction experience.
• 1 year of on-site safety experience.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
• Knowledge of government regulations, hazard control methods, and industrial hygiene.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct training and influence organizational behavior.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

• Investigate accidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Assist in developing JSA, SHMP, and PSSP safety plans.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and conduct safety training.

Overview

The Area HSE Specialist is responsible for assisting in the overall supervision and administration of safety for Business Unit projects to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Overseeing project safety efforts in their respective area to prevent accidents and injuries while communicating details of safety conditions to the HSE Manager and various levels of Business Unit supervision for their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Participates in developing and conducting field safety orientation training.
• Daily inspection of machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safe work practices.
• Observes workers to determine appropriate use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses helmets, goggles, respirators, gloves, and clothing.
• Inspection of specified areas for fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety devices.
• Tests working areas for hazard exposures (noise, toxic, etc.) using associated testing equipment.
• Prepares reports of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
• Investigation of accidents per program procedures to establish root cause for use in recommending preventive safety measures.
• Documenting all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions or behavior.
• Assisting in development of standardized job safety analysis (JSA), corporate safety and health management program (SHMP), as well as project specific safety plans (PSSP).
• Conducts weekly safety meetings with workers to instruct them on company/project safety practices and requirements.
• Demonstrates use of equipment and conduct safety training.
• Performs office or nonmanual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the employer or the employer's customers.
• Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in their area of responsibility.
• Regularly interact with area Operational counterparts regarding trends and work activity.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Recognized Safety Certification.
• 5 years of previous construction experience.
• 1 year of previous experience as on-site safety person.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED Trainer.
• Specific mobile equipment trainer.
• Working knowledge of government regulations, hazard control methods, and industrial hygiene.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct training and influence organizational behavior.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• BCSP certification(s): CSP, ASP, GSP, OHST, CHST

Travel Requirements

• 50-75% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Climbing stairs.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Quiet environment.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
