RelaDyne LLC is seeking an Area Fleet Manager to oversee DOT compliance, fleet safety, and fleet management across multiple distribution centers within an assigned region. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of DOT compliance or fleet management experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of federal and state fleet/DOT regulations and maintenance practices

  • Ability to understand technical vehicle information, service records, repair estimates, and manufacturer specifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure DOT compliance and fleet safety across multiple distribution centers
  • Support Samsara setup, driver-event review, coaching and compliance initiatives
  • Monitor DVIRs, ensure defects are documented, repaired, and closed
  • Maintain fleet records including registrations, insurance, permits, recalls, tolls, rentals, leasing, fleet cards
  • Coordinate vehicle and asset transfers to maximize utilization
  • Assist with fleet-related M&A activities as needed

We are seeking an experienced Area Fleet Manager to oversee fleet safety, DOT compliance, and fleet management programs across multiple distribution centers within an assigned region. This role partners with Operations, Fleet, and shared services teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient fleet operations.

The position is field-based and requires travel of up to 50%.

Key Responsibilities

DOT Compliance & Fleet Safety

  • Partner with distribution center leadership to ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company fleet policies, and driver requirements.
  • Support Samsara setup, installation, driver-event review, coaching, and compliance initiatives.
  • Monitor pre- and post-trip DVIRs, ensuring defects are documented, repaired, and properly closed.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs and achieve 90%+ compliance with FMC schedules.
  • Review roadside inspections and ensure violations or vehicle defects are corrected.
  • Conduct at least one multi-site fleet safety/compliance audit per month and visit each assigned site at least annually.
  • Serve as the primary DOT/fleet resource for assigned distribution centers and support network-wide compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with fleet-related M&A activities as needed.

Fleet Administration & Management

  • Maintain accurate fleet records and support vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, recalls, tolls, rentals, leasing, and fleet card requirements.
  • Coordinate vehicle and asset transfers to maximize fleet utilization.
  • Partner with Operations to utilize preferred vendors, control costs, and maximize rebate opportunities.
  • Support fleet maintenance audits and annual CAPEX planning.
  • Provide DOT and fleet expertise to Operations and Dispatch to support safe, timely customer deliveries.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of DOT compliance and/or fleet management experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%,primarily to cover distribution centers within assigned region.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Experience with electronic logging/fleet technology.
  • Knowledge of federal and state fleet/DOT regulations and maintenance practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand technical vehicle information, service records, repair estimates, and manufacturer specifications.

Preferred:

  • CDL, preferably with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
  • Commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driving experience.
  • Experience with Samsara or similar fleet telematics systems.
