Job summary

BrightPath Kids in the Chicago area is seeking an Area Director to oversee several child care centers and lead Center Directors to deliver BrightPath standards.

You will recruit and develop staff, manage policies, ensure safety and licensing compliance, and drive enrollment growth while maintaining high-quality early childhood education across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 5+ years of childcare or teaching experience.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervision ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Able to multitask and stay organized
• Available to work within regular operating hours
• Meets state criteria for childcare employment

What will you be doing?

As an Area Director, you will work side by side with teachers, children, and families to provide a home away from home for children in our community. You will oversee several child care centers and manage directors to ensure quality of operations are up to BrightPath standards. You will be responsible for the overall operation of the child care centers including, but not limited to: recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, NAEYC accreditation standards, state licensing, and other internal company policies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Address parent complaints and concerns
• Optimize center configuration to ensure enrollment growth in each location
• Direct supervision of assigned Center Directors. Responsible for career pathing, development, accountability and overall people management for each Center Director in your care.
• Ensure centers are in compliance with all state, safety, fire, quality educational programming and staffing regulations.
• Assess overall appearance of designated sites including equipment, furniture, cleanliness, bathrooms, playgrounds, landscaping, etc.
• Ensure center, staff and child safety in each location. Ensure adherence to all safety policies and standards
• Review customer survey and staff survey summaries and establishes and executes Actions Plans for improvement as needed.
• Responsible for P&L and overall positive business growth, labor and expense management.
