Job summary

Lennar Area Construction Manager in the United States supervises, coordinates, and manages daily home construction operations across multiple communities. You will lead, coach, and mentor construction teams to ensure high performance, quality, and on-time completion.

The role requires at least 5 years of residential construction management experience, strong scheduling and budgeting skills, ability to read blueprints, and a proven track record in safety and partner management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and document management.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office products (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, and manage individuals and teams across multiple communities to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide training to the construction team regarding warranty issues, scheduling, trade partner supervision, quality control, price negotiations, and policies.
• Manage staffing, performance evaluations, and development with open communication to ensure quality outcomes.
• Conduct performance appraisals on a regular basis.
• Oversee all Construction Managers and construction activities in assigned communities.
• Supervise daily trade partner activities according to schedules and scopes of work.
• Inspect homes to ensure quality specifications and safety at all times.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and stormwater policies.
• Maintain records of change orders and purchase orders; approve trade partner invoices.
• Build strong relationships with homeowners, trade partners, and internal teams.

Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment.
