Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation in Memphis seeks an Area Business Development Director to serve as a strategic leader for multiple hospitals, strengthening referral networks and expanding access to rehabilitation services in the Memphis region.

In this senior role, you will lead high-performing business development teams, implement market-wide strategies, and collaborate with hospital and clinical leadership to optimize admissions and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare marketing or nurse liaison.
• Bachelor's degree in related area preferred.
• Proven track record in leading or direct sales and marketing, preferably in Healthcare environment.
• Physician relations, Case manager, Managed care knowledge of local market preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic marketing leadership for multiple hospitals in the region.
• Monitor admissions, discharges, volume trends, payer mix, case mix, patient outcomes and other KPIs.
• Develop and execute marketing plans using data and CRM insights to measure performance.
• Identify market opportunities and risks and report to hospital and senior leadership.
• Lead marketing operations including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing team members.
• Manage territory assignments, sales strategies, budgets, and grassroots outreach.
• Oversee admission-related processes including insurance verification and pre-certification requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to evaluate admission appropriateness and service expansion.
• Build and maintain strong referral source relationships and differentiate Encompass Health from competitors.
• Collaborate on marketing materials, PR, and media outreach to meet market objectives.

• Monitor admissions, discharges, volume trends, payer mix, case mix, patient outcomes, and other key performance metrics to achieve operational goals.
• Develop and execute effective marketing plans, using data and CRM insights to measure performance and optimize results.
• Identify market opportunities and risks, communicating recommendations and performance updates to hospital and senior leadership.
• Lead marketing operations, including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing marketing team members.
• Manage territory assignments, sales strategies, budgets, and grassroots outreach initiatives.
• Oversee admission-related processes, including insurance verification, pre-certification requirements, discharge planning, reimbursement considerations, and resource utilization.
• Partner with clinical and hospital leadership to evaluate admission appropriateness, enhance existing services, and identify opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong referral source relationships by educating stakeholders on services and differentiating the organization from competitors.
• Collaborate with corporate partners to develop marketing materials, advertising campaigns, public relations efforts, and media outreach that support market objectives.

Qualifications

• Driver's license and acceptable driving record according to company policy.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a marketing representative, or nurse liaison in a healthcare environment.
• Bachelor's degree in related area preferred.
• Successful track record in leading, managing or direct sales and marketing, preferably in Healthcare environment.
• Physician relations, Case manager, Managed care, knowledge of local healthcare market preferred.
