Job summary

Rockbridge Elementary School seeks a SPED Paraprofessional to support students with special education needs by implementing instructional plans and promoting high academic expectations.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the teaching team, provide small group and individualized instruction, assist with assessments, and help prepare instructional materials to ensure timely delivery of lessons in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses with GPA 2.0 or higher from an accredited college or university.
• High school diploma/GED with a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment is required.
• Must obtain valid paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction as per lesson plans.
• Assists teachers with daily classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Assists with assessment of student performance (standardized and non-standardized tests) and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists with development and organization of instructional materials and ensures availability before instruction.
• Performs duties as assigned.

Rockbridge Elementary School is seeking an SPED Paraprofessional. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and have a strong desire to help students learn. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver and promote high academic expectations to all students. The ideal candidate must work collaboratively with team members and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Title: Paraprofessional, Special Education

Supports teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students in the classroom and community.

Essential Functions

• In accordance with lesson plans developed by the teacher, provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students.
• Assists teachers with daily classroom management activities designed to ensure that students demonstrate behavior that is conducive to an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessment of student performance (standardized and non-standardized testing) and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists teachers with the development and organization of appropriate instructional materials for use with students and ensures the availability of these materials prior to scheduled instructional segments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required.

• High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment is required.
