Job summary

MG2 Design in San Francisco seeks an Architectural Project Manager for Data Centers to lead client programs from concept through construction administration. You’ll drive schedules, budgets, and staffing while ensuring design excellence and strong client relationships.

The role requires leading teams through milestones, managing contracts, and delivering high-profile data center projects with technical rigor and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
  • Demonstrated professional expertise with Data Centers.
  • Professional license preferred.
  • Experience leading teams through milestone-based project delivery.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Experience with collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams.
  • Proficient in English for written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams through all project phases and ensure deliverables meet contract, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Ensure all required contracts are in place before executing deliverables.
  • Create and maintain milestone-based project schedules and staffing workplans.
  • Develop detailed Project Charters, including QA/QC plans.
  • Assist with project proposals and RFP responses.
  • Monitor project financial status and conduct reviews with Team Leads or Principal‑in‑Charge.
  • Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
  • Produce weekly project updates for stakeholders.
  • Lead internal and external project team meetings.
  • Oversee QA/QC procedures and reviews of deliverables.
  • Oversee construction administration activities and site visits.

Overview

MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a dynamic Architectural Project Manager - Data Centers to join our Client Programs Market team in San Francisco, CA!

In this role, you’ll have the rare opportunity to work on global and national building programs that are shaping the future of data center design. As part of our Client Programs (CP) Market, you’ll take the lead in guiding projects through every stage of execution—driving innovation, delivering results, and making a lasting impact for our clients.

As a Project Manager, you’ll be at the helm of project teams, overseeing everything from contracts and design to documentation, permitting, and construction administration. You’ll manage project schedules and financial performance with precision, while cultivating strong client relationships and ensuring MG2’s standard of design excellence is upheld at every step. Serving as the primary point of contact, you’ll bring clarity, leadership, and confidence to both clients and project teams alike.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project teams through all project phases and ensure deliverables meet contract, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Ensure all required contracts are in place before executing deliverables.
  • Create and maintain accurate milestone‑based project schedules and staffing workplans.
  • Develop detailed Project Charters, including comprehensive QA/QC plans for all work.
  • Assist with project proposals and RFP responses as requested.
  • Monitor project financial status and conduct intermediate financial reviews with Team Leads or Principal‑in‑Charge.
  • Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
  • Produce weekly project updates covering contract deliverables, financials, contracts, and permitting reports, and distribute them to all stakeholders.
  • Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings.
  • Participate in all Quality Control procedures, reviewing externally distributed deliverables.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including RFI and submittal log reviews and attendance at OAC meetings; review site visit reports and punch lists.
  • Host project debrief meetings after construction activities to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Initiate close‑out procedures following substantial completion and finalise in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Manage internal and external resources, ensuring quality and profitability.
  • Continuously manage team performance, providing accurate and relevant feedback.
  • Conduct monthly 1:1 check‑ins and mid‑year/year‑end performance reviews (People Managers Only).

Compensation: $80,000 to $152,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
