GHD’s US West Design Studio seeks a strategic, relationship‑driven Project Director- Architect in San Francisco, CA. The role blends high‑impact business development with hands‑on project involvement, acting as a Lead architect, Project Manager, and Seller‑Doer to win work and deliver across building sectors.

The position supports a hybrid work model with in‑office collaboration three days a week, leading teams and growing the architecture practice while shaping the built environment through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture.
• Architectural licensure in the U.S. (required) or active progress toward licensure.
• 12–20 years of architectural experience, including project involvement in multiple building types.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams, delivery excellence and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and market leadership initiatives, building and maintaining client relationships across target markets.
• Serve as project architect or design lead, guiding conceptual design and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage project financial health from contract to close out with work plans and delivery guidance.
