Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field, or completed within the last 12 months.
  • Foundational knowledge of architectural design, building systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to prepare and revise architectural drawings and models under supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines with guidance.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and willingness to learn new tools.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and SketchUp preferred.
  • Interest in multifamily development and affordable housing preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Dominium is currently seeking a full-time Summer 2027 Architecture Intern to join us at our Dallas Regional Office. This is a full-time, on-site internship starting approximately June 8, 2027 and ending approximately August 20, 2027.

Initial interviews are expected to begin in mid to late-October 2026, and we anticipate completing the majority of hiring decisions by late December 2026 for Summer 2027 internships. POSITION SUMMARY

The Architecture Intern supports Dominium's Architecture Team, including Architectural Designers, Project Managers, and the Vice President of Architecture, with multifamily housing projects involving new construction and rehabilitation. Under the direction of architectural staff, this position assists with production drawings, prepares design materials, researches building products and systems, and supports construction administration activities. This role provides hands-on experience in architectural design, documentation, and project coordination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Assists with the preparation and revision of production drawings and construction documents for multifamily new construction and rehabilitation projects under the direction of architectural staff.
  2. Prepares 2D drawings, 3D models, and presentation materials for design development and project team review.
  3. Incorporates drawing markups, design revisions, and project information into architectural documents as directed by Architectural Designers and Project Managers.
  4. Assists with evaluating technical and design solutions related to building systems, materials, and project requirements.
  5. Researches building products, materials, and systems to support design decisions and material selection, including sustainable design solutions.
  6. Supports construction administration activities, including organizing project documentation and assisting with the review and tracking of submittals, requests for information, and related correspondence.
  7. Maintains organized project files, drawings, and records and provides administrative support to the Architecture Team as needed.
  8. Collaborates with internal teams and external project partners to support project coordination and maintain professional working relationships.
  9. Maintains timely and regular attendance.
  10. Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Training and Experience.)
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field, or obtained a degree in one of these fields within the previous 12 months.
  • Foundational knowledge of architectural design principles, building systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
