Job summary

GHD in Syracuse, NY seeks an Architecture Intern to assist with designing and editing buildings and alterations, primarily for water and wastewater infrastructure projects for municipal and industrial clients.

This internship follows a hybrid work model—in-office three days a week—to foster collaboration, learning, and contribution within our Architecture team.

Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture and have working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp (knowledge is required).
• Interest in municipal/industrial water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons.
• Review and edit project specifications.
• Prepare and edit designs and drawings as directed by Senior Architect.
• Prepare portions of project documents.
• Research code and regulatory requirements.
• Document findings on design options and components for the Senior Architect and Job Manager.
• Respond to contractor questions and prepare alternate designs under supervision.

We're looking for an Architecture Intern to join our Architecture team this upcoming summer! As an Intern, you will assist with the design, evaluation and implementation of new buildings and building alterations, for primarily municipal and industrial clients; most frequently for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Performing design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons
• Reviewing and editing project specifications
• Preparing and editing designs and drawings recommended by Senior Architect
• Preparing portions of project documents
• Researching code and regulatory requirements
• Researching design options, component specifications and document findings for Senior Architect and Job Manager
• Responding to contractor's questions and preparing alternate designs as needed under the guidance of Senior Architect
• Performing analysis and design retrofit of new and existing facilities

What you will bring to the Team

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp#LI-IP1
