Job summary

Hunter Quinn Homes seeks a Director of Architecture to lead the architectural development of all home plans, ensuring innovation, buildability, and code compliance across markets. You will optimize floorplans, elevations, and construction documents while driving efficiency and cost improvements.

The role requires 8–12+ years in residential architecture, a strong leadership presence, and proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
• 8–12+ years of residential architecture experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction and codes.
• Experience with multi-market product portfolios.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural development and technical execution of all home plans.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize floorplans, elevations, and docs.
• Ensure compliance with codes, zoning, HOA standards, regulations.
• Drive plan standardization and improve efficiency/quality.
• Evaluate and approve architectural revisions and changes.
• Partner with Purchasing and Construction to reduce cost.
• Lead value engineering initiatives supporting quality/profitability.
• Oversee external architects, engineers, consultants, and drafting partners.
• Maintain CAD libraries, revision control and documentation accuracy.
• Support BOYL, Scattered Lot, and production product adaptation.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Architecture team.

As Hunter Quinn Homes continues to grow across multiple markets, the Director of Architecture leads the technical development and execution of the company's residential product portfolio. This leader ensures home plans are innovative, buildable, code compliant, operationally efficient, and aligned with the company's product strategy while partnering across the organization to deliver scalable, high-quality homes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural development and technical execution of all home plans across the company.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize floorplans, elevations, structural options, and construction documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, zoning requirements, HOA standards, and regulations.
• Drive plan standardization and simplification to improve efficiency and quality.
• Evaluate and approve architectural revisions and engineering changes.
• Partner with Purchasing and Construction to improve constructability and reduce cost.
• Lead value engineering initiatives supporting quality and profitability.
• Oversee external architects, engineers, consultants, and drafting partners.
• Maintain CAD libraries, revision control, and documentation accuracy.
• Support BOYL, Scattered Lot, and production product adaptation.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Architecture team.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
