Job summary

University of Virginia External Relations seeks an Associate or Senior Associate Director of Development for Architecture to build philanthropic partnerships advancing architectural initiatives. The role requires leadership in fundraising, strategic donor engagement, and collaboration across university programs.

The successful candidate will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans, travel nationally to cultivate prospects, and coordinate with alumni and friends to maximize support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3+ years fundraising experience for Associate level; 5+ years for Senior Associate level.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan including special events, communications, annual campaigns, and major gift strategies.
• Travel nationally to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects.
• Collaborate with other fundraisers within the department and across the University to coordinate alumni, parents, and friends' engagement and cultivation plans.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
