Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in the United States seeks a Department Manager - Architecture to lead an architectural team on complex industrial projects. You will serve as Architect of Record, manage construction documents in Revit, and ensure design integrity and schedule adherence.

You will collaborate with clients, engineering, and construction teams, mentor staff, and oversee hiring and performance reviews. Travel for client meetings and events is required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of architectural experience leading design teams.
• Expertise in food, beverage, life sciences, or related facilities.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and building codes.
• Licensed Architect (RA); NCARB preferred.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design team on complex industrial projects as Architect of Record.
• Produce high-quality construction documents (Revit) with code compliance.
• Collaborate with clients, engineering, controls, and construction teams to align goals.
• Oversee permitting, bidding, and construction phases while maintaining schedule.
• Mentor staff on technical development and quality standards.
• Handle department hiring, workload planning, and performance reviews.
