Job summary

Middlebury College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Architectural Studies starting fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach foundational and upper-level architectural design studios, as well as theory courses, and contribute to the Museum Studies curriculum and global survey.

The ideal candidate holds an MArch (PhD preferred), has undergraduate teaching experience, an active research agenda, and a commitment to the Liberal Arts.

Qualifications

• Must hold an MArch degree with strong preference for candidates holding both an MArch and PhD.
• Experience as the instructor of record teaching undergraduates is required.
• Active research agenda and commitment to the Liberal Arts are essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational and upper-level architectural design studios and theory courses.
• Contribute to Middlebury's Museum Studies curriculum and team-taught global survey.
• Regularly participate in Middlebury's First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term offerings.
• Engage in service to the College, including committee work and leadership roles when asked.
