Job summary

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. in Houston is seeking an Architectural Staff II to support design teams in preparing design and construction drawings and assist in construction administration for Public Works projects.

The candidate should have 3 years of architectural experience producing detailed and well-documented construction documents in Revit and be pursuing licensure with AXP involvement. Bachelor’s degree in architecture required.

Architectural Staff II

Role Description

Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Architectural Staff II at our Houston Downtown office. This role supports design teams in preparing design and construction drawings and assisting in construction administration for various projects which are in our Public Works Practice. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and 3 years' architectural experience producing detailed and well-documented construction documents in Revit.

Duties

• Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development.
• Prepares project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment.
• Prepares various documents during the course of the project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc.
• Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings, if needed.
• Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor.
• Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation.
• Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review.
• Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence if needed.
• Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents.
• Select and prepare material finish boards/binders.
• Some travel to construction job sites and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelors in Architecture.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Should be engaged in AXP and actively pursuing licensure.

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary work that requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
