Job description

Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of complex work, Development One is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to join our team in Downtown Fullerton. For more than 30 years, Development One has provided architecture and project management services for clients including NASA, U.S. Space Force, GSA, FedEx, Qantas, and others. Our work spans courthouse, aviation, aerospace, laboratory, office, data center, and other specialized facilities.

This is an opportunity for an experienced project leader to play an influential role in a growing practice. You will work directly with firm leadership, lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client and consultant relationships, and contribute to the continued growth and development of our project delivery practices.

This position is based in our Fullerton design studio. We value in-person collaboration and expect Project Managers to maintain a regular presence in the office. Some flexibility may be available based on experience, project responsibilities, and the needs of the firm.

THE OPPORTUNITY
  • Lead architectural projects from planning and design through construction administration and closeout, with responsibility for scope, fee, schedule, budget, and overall project performance.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams.
  • Guide Architects, Job Captains, and other team members in the production of presentations, design documents, and construction documents.
  • Anticipate project needs, identify risks early, and resolve challenges throughout design and construction administration in a proactive, diplomatic, and strategic manner.
  • Promote strong design, documentation, quality control, and project delivery practices.
  • Mentor developing staff, set clear expectations, and help strengthen the capabilities of the project team.
  • Remain sufficiently hands-on to contribute in Revit and AutoCAD when project needs require it.
KEEP READING IF:

YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED PROJECT LEADER. You know how to lead complex projects through multiple phases of design and construction while balancing client expectations, design quality, schedule, and budget.

YOU TAKE OWNERSHIP. You anticipate what a project and project team will need, identify problems before they become crises, and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, and colleagues.

YOU ENJOY LEADING AND MENTORING. You set clear expectations, hold yourself and others accountable, and help developing staff become stronger architects and project leaders.

YOU WANT YOUR WORK TO MATTER. You are energized by challenging projects that support public agencies, critical infrastructure, aviation, science, technology, and other mission-driven clients.
