Job summary

Flewelling & Moody, a California-based architecture firm with a long history of thoughtful, community-centered design, seeks a Project Lead to guide projects from concept through construction. You will mentor designers, manage BIM models, coordinate with consultants, and ensure code compliance and design excellence across educational, civic, and residential projects in California.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
Licensed Architect in California or actively pursuing licensure.
5–8 years of professional architectural experience with increasing project responsibility.
Experience leading construction document production through all phases of a project.
Strong knowledge of California Building Codes, accessibility requirements, and construction detailing.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
Experience with senior housing, affordable housing, or multi-family residential projects is desirable.
Experience working through DSA review and approval processes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, Enscape, Word & Excel.
Experience with SketchUp, Rhino, BIM coordination, and visualization software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct project research, code analysis, and material/product evaluations alongside the Project Architect.
Understand project scope, coordinate with consultants and design teams.
Collaborate with PMs and Project Architects to deliver on schedule and within budget.
Independently manage smaller projects and support larger teams.
Manage BIM models and maintain drawing standards.
Lead production and coordination of drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and Forma.
Coordinate, mentor, and provide technical guidance to staff and interns.
Develop architectural details and help with specifications.
Review drawing sets for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance.
Perform field investigations and site verification.
Support bidding and construction administration tasks.
Maintain clear client communication to ensure excellent service.
Assist with responses to RFQs and RFPs when needed.
