Job summary

Certified Enameling, Inc. is seeking an experienced, tech-forward Estimator to prepare accurate takeoffs, cost calculations, and proposals for commercial architectural projects.

Our work includes architectural metal finishing, powder coating, sheet metal fabrication, storefront systems, and aluminum doors/frames. You will review documents, perform digital takeoffs, request pricing, and craft competitive proposals. LA-based, in-person role with a sense of urgency and clear communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience with architectural metals, glazing, sheet metal or related work preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, specs, and complete project documents.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and digital takeoff software.
• Experience using BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft 365 or similar systems.
• Comfort with ERP systems such as Odoo.
• Strong math, organization, and communication skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with urgency to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
• Complete accurate digital quantity takeoffs.
• Calculate material, labor, finishing, freight, and outside-service costs.
• Request and compare pricing from vendors and suppliers.
• Prepare clear, complete, and competitive proposals.
• Track bid deadlines, revisions, exclusions, and follow-up activity.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and unclear requirements before submitting bids.
• Maintain pricing and project information in company systems.
• Support project managers with scope, pricing, and post-award data.
• Communicate clearly with customers, vendors, PMs, and internal teams.
• Respond promptly to requests, changes, deadlines, and priorities.
• Help improve estimating templates, digital workflows, and cost accuracy.

About the Position

Certified Enameling is seeking an experienced, tech-forward Estimator to prepare accurate takeoffs, cost calculations, and proposals for commercial architectural projects.

• Sheet metal fabrication
• Storefront systems
• Aluminum doors and frames

The right candidate must be comfortable reviewing complete project documents, performing digital takeoffs, requesting vendor pricing, and preparing competitive proposals that protect company profitability.

A positive attitude, clear communication, strong follow-through, and a genuine sense of urgency are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Three or more years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience with architectural metals, glazing, sheet metal, commercial painting, metal finishing, or related work is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and complete project documents.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and digital takeoff software.
• Experience with BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft 365, or similar
  systems.
• Comfortable learning and working within ERP systems such as Odoo.
• Strong math, organization, communication, and follow-through.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with professional communication skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet firm deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities with limited supervision.
• College degree preferred but not required with equivalent industry experience.
• Valid driver's license.
