The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD skills, extensive residential construction experience, excellent drafting standards, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Maintain consistency and accuracy across drawing sheets, including dimensions, annotations, details, and schedules.
Work within established office CAD standards, templates, and drawing conventions.
Apply knowledge of California residential building codes and conventional wood-frame construction.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience producing architectural construction documents, preferably for California residential projects.
Advanced proficiency in native AutoCAD is required. All drafting and documentation must be performed directly in AutoCAD using DWG files.
Demonstrated experience independently producing complete residential permit drawing sets.
Strong understanding of wood-frame construction, architectural detailing, and building systems.
Familiarity with California residential building codes and permitting requirements.
Excellent graphic and technical drafting standards, including lineweights, dimensioning, annotations, and sheet organization.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Previous experience as a Job Captain or Senior Architectural Drafter at a residential architecture firm is highly desirable.
The architect will provide developed design drawings, including floor plans, roof plans, and elevations, along with established CAD standards and templates.
The Job Captain will be responsible for developing the architectural construction documents, including sections, details, schedules, and drawing coordination.
The architect will retain responsibility for design direction, final review, professional stamping, permit submissions, and plan-check responses.
We are interested in establishing a long‑term relationship with an experienced professional who can become a reliable extension of our practice as our project workload grows.
