Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Architecture Designer II in the Carolinas Buildings + Places group to support advanced manufacturing and federal projects. The role delivers design development and production support from concept through construction administration, in a hybrid work environment in Conshohocken, PA.

You will collaborate with senior staff, use Revit and AutoCAD, and produce construction documents with attention to codes, life safety, and project delivery requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture with 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of design development, building systems, codes and life safety, and project delivery methods.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and develop design and construction documents through completion.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and data tables.
  • Coordinate with design and drafting groups.
  • Review and approve drawings per project discipline leaders.
  • Undertake moderate complexity tasks under Supervising Architect.
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines and departments.
  • Assist in training and evaluation of staff.
  • Design and production using Revit through construction documents.
  • Perform construction administration and respond to RFIs.
  • Conduct field verification and travel to project sites (less than 10%).
  • Perform QA/QC reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

AECOM is seeking an experienced Architecture Designer II for our Carolinas B+P group, to support advanced manufacturing and federal project types. This role provides architectural guidance, design development, and production support across a range of project delivery methods, working closely with senior staff and project teams from concept through construction administration.

Our Carolinas B+P teams focus on providing design services in the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics market, including logistics centers and industrial facilities, while also supporting a wide range of project types across the federal and private sectors.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects, in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting
  • Design and production work, including architectural detailing through construction documents, using Revit
  • Perform construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
  • Perform field verification and travel to project sites as needed (less than 10%)
  • Perform QA/QC reviews when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architectureplus two (2) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Demonstrated experience with design solution development, building systems and detailing, applicable codes and life safety requirements, differing building types and project delivery methods, as well asprogramming and planning methods
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a United States Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on federal projects with knowledge of the UFC and UFGS
  • LEED credentials
  • Eligibility for a U.S. Security clearance
  • Degree from a NAAB accredited program
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks accurately, effectively, and confidently
