Job summary

Employment Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a design professional to take ownership of construction drawings from development through completion. You will mentor less experienced designers and interface with structural, mechanical, and other engineering teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.

The role focuses on producing code-compliant drawings, coordinating with PMs, and guiding teams to deliver functional, visually appropriate solutions within a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Professional license preferred.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in architecture.
• 4–10 years of architectural design and construction documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, detailed construction drawings with minimal oversight.
• Create code compliant plans with knowledge of building codes.
• Apply design principles for functional, budget-conscious and visually appropriate solutions.
• Guide and develop team members with clear goals and feedback.
• Communicate with clients when the project manager is unavailable.
• Prepare submittals and attend approval meetings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for integrated documents.
• Manage workload and produce accurate drawings.
• Track progress and alert the PM of schedule risks.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs, keep PM updated on field issues.
• Perform site visits and verify documents match completed work.

• Guide and develop team members through clear goals, performance standards, and feedback.
• Communicate professionally with clients when the project manager is unavailable, keeping the PM informed throughout.
• Prepare submittals and attend approval meetings when required.
• Coordinate closely with other disciplines to produce accurate, integrated documents.
