About the Role

A design-forward Phoenix architecture studio with an established hospitality portfolio is seeking a Mid-Level Architectural Designer to support concept development, design documentation, and guest‑experience‑driven architecture for a range of resort, hotel, spa, and entertainment-focused projects.

Phoenix hospitality work combines desert luxury, wellness, elevated F&B, and destination‑level experiences, making this role ideal for designers who thrive in creative, narrative-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities
Concept Development & Early Design
  • Contribute to conceptual design for resorts, hotels, spas, restaurants, lounges, and entertainment venues.
  • Prepare sketches, diagrams, renderings, and early presentation materials.
  • Collaborate with senior designers to establish project themes, storylines, spatial concepts, and visual direction.
Architectural Design & Visualization
  • Develop design options in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, or Rhino, generating compelling visuals for internal and client reviews.
  • Support planning and layout of hospitality programs including guest rooms, suites, lobbies, restaurants, spa areas, bars, outdoor amenities, and BOH spaces.
  • Participate in massing, façade studies, interior architecture concepts, and experiential design moments.
Documentation & Technical Support
  • Produce architectural drawings (plans, elevations, sections) during SD and DD phases, with continued involvement in CDs depending on experience.
  • Coordinate with interiors teams to align architectural and interior elements in hospitality-focused environments.
  • Assist in detailing key hospitality components such as casinos, spa facilities, resorts and hotels.
Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with project architects, interior designers, PMs, and consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, landscape).
  • Support client presentations with clear graphics, renderings, and diagrams.
  • Participate in design critiques and contribute to team ideation.
Construction Support
  • Assist in reviewing submittals, RFIs, and material samples.
  • Attend occasional site visits to understand construction realities and support design execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • 3-8 years of architectural design experience, with a preference for hospitality, resort, entertainment, or large commercial work.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit required; experience in SketchUp, Enscape, Rhino, Lumion, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of hospitality design principles: circulation, operational flow, guest experience sequencing, and spatial planning.
  • Strong visual communication and rendering skills.
  • Familiarity with building codes and ADA guidelines related to public and commercial environments.
  • Passion for hospitality design, narrative-driven environments, and experiential architecture.
  • Licensure not required but interest in pursuing licensure is valued.
Why This Opportunity?
  • Contribute to high-impact hospitality projects across Phoenix and the Southwest.
  • Join a creative studio with a strong commitment to design quality and experiential environments.
  • Grow into Project Designer or Project Architect roles with mentorship from senior leaders.
  • Add destination-level resort and entertainment work to your portfolio.
