Job summary

DAHLIN Architecture | Planning | Interiors seeks a licensed Architect/Project Manager for its Commercial team in Pleasanton, CA. This hybrid role requires three onsite days weekly and supports a range of design, documentation and client coordination tasks on moderate projects.

The position demands a CA license, 5+ years of experience including project management, and proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.

Qualifications

  • Licensed & registered Architect in CA (required).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with minimum 2 years PM experience.
  • Recent experience on US projects with knowledge of US codes.
  • Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
  • Ability to lead staff and coordinate with clients and consultants.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

  • Independently perform a wide range of architectural design tasks for projects of moderate size.
  • Conduct design, planning, and occupancy analyses and develop layouts.
  • Prepare project specifications by coordinating and analyzing data.
  • Provide services from schematic design through permit submittal and construction administration.
  • Direct and oversee production of design, construction documents and administration.
  • Monitor budgets and maintain thorough project documentation.
  • Review drawings to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and review work.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and outside consultants.

DAHLIN is seeking a licensed Architect / Project Manager to join the Commercial team in Pleasanton, CA. This experienced professional is a fully competent architect in all conventional aspects of architecture, responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, or several small projects, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.

This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our Pleasanton, CA office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Independently perform a wide range of assignments encompassing all conventional aspects of architectural design, applying advanced concepts to projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Conduct design, planning, and occupancy analyses and develop design layouts.
  • Prepare project specifications by compiling, coordinating and analyzing relevant data.
  • Provide professional architecture services from Schematic Design through building permit submittal and Construction Administration.
  • Direct, coordinate and oversee the production of project design, construction documents and/or construction administration.
  • Monitor project budgets and maintain accurate and thorough project documentation.
  • Review drawings and designs to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff, including redlining and reviewing others’ work.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and outside consultants.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Substantial experience developing details and providing technical and design support through Design Development for commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes with demonstrated awareness of code limitations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, coordinating effectively and maintaining positive working relationships with technical staff, outside consultants, and clients.
  • Able to provide clear, effective leadership and direction to architectural staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SketchUp modeling, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed & registered Architect in the state of CA required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience including a minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture required.
  • Recent experience working on architectural projects within the United States.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
  • Experience coordinating with U.S.-based clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Commitment to their own professional growth.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity and/or experience. The maximum is reserved for candidates who currently meet all job requirements.
