Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist to lead multi-disciplinary project teams across facility design, construction, operation and maintenance. The role requires an engineering background, professional licensure, and strong project management skills, with travel to government and customer facilities as needed.

Hybrid work model in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA, with opportunities to mentor teams and deliver data-driven facility solutions.

Qualifications

• A BS degree in Architecture, Project/Construction Management, or related engineering field from an accredited school.
• Minimum eight (8) years of facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance experience.
• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer (PE) license (current).
• Experience with programming, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of large multi-site facilities.
• Project management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of building codes (IBC, NFPA).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD programs.
• Experience with cost estimation and development of statements of work.
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead project engineer and project administrator duties for each project.
• Serve as project leader and coordinator of a team of technical contributors.
• Provide technical expertise to improve facility design, safety, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
• Develop design criteria and review A-E design packages for adherence and accuracy.
• Develop project scopes of work, budgets, cost estimates, and scheduling documents.
• Apply rigorous problem-solving to identify root causes of facility system failures.
• Mentor team members with technical guidance and development insight.
• Travel to customer/government facilities as required.
