Job summary

Hobbs+Black Architects in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Architect with strong technical expertise to detail construction documents and manage complex architectural projects across healthcare, education, civic, and commercial sectors. The role requires eight-plus years of experience, Revit proficiency, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

The position offers a hybrid work format (3 days in office; 2 days remote) and involves site planning, code analysis, and construction

Qualifications

• Eight (8) or more years of related architectural work experience.
• Proficient in the use of Revit to effectively produce quality documents.
• Experience working in Bluebeam to develop and detail construction documents.
• Architectural license preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Effective presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted client liaison with excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate clients' needs into actionable design solutions.
• Interface with project managers, project teams, consultants, and clients.
• Work in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams.
• Act as a technical solutions architect.
• Conduct site planning and zoning research.
• Provide code review and analysis for projects.
• Create detailed plans for complex architectural construction drawings.
• Utilize Revit to develop project designs, plans, and technical solutions for projects.
• Utilize Bluebeam for drawing review process.
• Preparation and coordination of bid packages.
• Confer with consultants to ensure fully coordinated drawing packages.
• Perform and/or oversee construction administration tasks, including submittal review, fieldwork, and documentation.
• Coordinate with QA/QC team to ensure quality and complete work.
