AtkinsRéalis seeks an Archaeological Intern to join our Tallahassee or Tampa, FL office. You will support cultural resource management projects, assist in field surveys, data collection, and artifact processing, and help prepare reports under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 60 hours toward a Bachelor's in Anthropology or Archaeology and are ready to work outdoors in varying conditions. Prior CRM experience is not required, and strong communication skills are valued.

• No prior Cultural Resource Management experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support for cultural resource management projects including surveys and report preparation.
• Conduct fieldwork under supervision, including pedestrian survey, shovel testing, data collection, and data recovery outdoors.
• Assist with artifact processing, data entry, curation, figure production, site forms, desktop surveys, and consultations.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Archaeological Intern to join our Tallahassee or Tampa, FL office.

Your Role

• Provide administrative and operational support for cultural resource management projects, including archaeological surveys and report preparation.
• Conduct archaeological fieldwork under supervision, which may include pedestrian survey, shovel testing, data collection, and/or data recovery in diverse environmental conditions.
• Assist with project-related tasks such as artifact processing, data entry, curation, report figure production, site form preparation, desktop survey, and consultation activities.

About You

• EXPERIENCE: No prior Cultural Resource Management work experience is required.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours toward a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field by the start of the internship
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions, walk long distances, carry up to 40 pounds of equipment, stoop, and squat.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic computer and data entry skills.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $23 - $29 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
